MOUNT ISA AIRPORT SCREENING UPGRADE

The security screening area at Mount Isa Airport is being upgraded and expanded. This project will also deliver other improvements for the terminal, including more space in the departures area and improved passenger flow.

The screening point is being reconfigured to accommodate the Federal Government’s enhanced security screening requirements, and is proceeding thanks to a Federal Government Regional Airports Screening Infrastructure (RASI) grant of $2.46 million.

Passengers will now pass through security screening after checking in, and before entering a larger departure lounge.

We are making other improvements to the terminal following the screening upgrade – including a new-look café, recarpeting, painting and a landside bathroom refresh.
