Location
As the Airport services the largest underground mine in Australia, Mount Isa Airport welcomed 138,000 passengers during the last financial year of June 2006.
The Airport is located 8 kilometres from the City centre.
Mount Isa is a two hour flight to Townsville and Brisbane from which an extensive network to major capital cities is available.
Mount Isa Airport is 100 % owned by Queensland Airports Pty Ltd.

Car Parking
Dropping off Passengers
Passengers arriving at the airport by car may be dropped off with their luggage at the front of the terminal building. Please note that this is a two minute zone only. Drivers are asked not to park kerbside whilst seeing passengers off, or waiting for passengers to arrive, regardless of whether the driver remains with the car. Should visitors wish to stay longer than the two minutes allowed in this zone, please use the complementary short term car park.
Short Term Parking
Complimentary Short term parking is available in the short term car park located in front of the terminal building up to a maximum of 2 hours.
Please note that vehicles found parked over two hours in the short term parking area, are issued with an infringement notice of $22.00 per vehicle per day. The infringement notice can be paid by cash or money order.
Long Term Parking
The charges for the long term car park are based on a 24 hour period.
Secure long term parking is $9.35 (inclusive of GST) per 24 hour period. Payment is required at time of parking, unless prior arrangement is made with Airport Administration.
Pre-Paid Parking
A Pre-paid option is available by calling Airport Administration during business hours Ph: (07) 4743 4598.
Parking for Special Needs
Disabled parking bays are located at the front of the terminal building and are conveniently situated as close to the terminal as possible.
Taxis
Taxis are available from the terminal. A courtesy phone linking you directly to the Taxi Company is located on the eastern side of the terminal, facing the main carpark.
